Linda Louise (Vollmer) Hellman, age 76, of Durham NC, formerly of Level Green and Harrison City, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in UNC Hospice House, Pittsboro, NC. Linda was born on September 17, 1947, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Stahley) Vollmer. Linda was a retired Registered Nurse working at Pittsburgh and Forbes Hospitals. She was an active member of the Level Green Women’s Club, volunteered often at St. Regis Catholic School where her children attended, and participated in various ministries at St. Barbara Catholic Church. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards with her friends, and rooting for all Pittsburgh sports teams. Linda and her husband Eric loved trips to the beach (particularly Myrtle Beach, SC), going to the movies, and spending time with their children and grandchildren. Linda was a current member of Holy Infant Catholic Church in Durham, NC, and former member of St. Barbara Catholic Church in Harrison City and St. Regis Catholic Church in Trafford. She is survived by her husband of 52 years Eric P. Hellman; her children Matthew (Jill) Hellman of Hartford, CT; Amanda (Zebulon) Highben of Durham, NC; and Ashlee (Jason) Cooper of Boston, MA; her grandchildren Anna, William and Madeline Hellman and Cecilia Highben; her sister Roberta (Bruce) Reed of Medina, OH; her niece Lindsey (Joe) Bugaj and nephew Michael (Alexandra) Reed; great-nephews Greyson and Owen Bugaj and great-nieces Margaret and Louisa Reed. Friends will be received on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc., 702 7th Street (State Rt. 130) Trafford, 412-372-3111. A funeral mass will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at St. Barbara Catholic Church, 111 Raymaley Rd, Harrison City, with Fr. Michael Sikon as celebrant. All attending please meet directly at the church for Linda’s mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kentucky Project at St. Barbara.
