John M. Dobrinick

John M. “Dobie” Dobrinick age 73 of Trafford died at his home on Wednesday morning, October 10, 2012.  Dobie was born on October 9, 1939 in Wilkinsburg the son of the late John M. and Dorothy Ciganovic Dobrinick.  Dobie was a graduate of Jeannette High School Class of 1957 and was the starting halfback with their 1956 WPIAL Class AA Football Championship Team and a lifelong supporter of Jeannette Athletics.  Dobie’s passion was high school football. He always said high school athletics was the best to watch because the kids played because they love the game. Dobie was a graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1961. He worked in the Greensburg/Jeannette area as a licensed funeral director before purchasing the William Daugherty Funeral Home in Trafford in 1974 and changing the name to the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home. Dobie has served the families of Trafford and Level Green area for over 38 years and one of his proudest moments was moving to their new location on 7th Street in 2003. Dobie was a former member of the Jeannette School Board.  He was a current and very active member of the Trafford Lions Club, serving various offices within the organization.  He was the Emergency Management Director for Trafford for over 20 years and was always a very active member of the Trafford Community.  Dobie was preceded in death by his grandson James Mark Cass Jr. in 1996.  He is survived by his loving wife Bonnie M. Casario Dobrinick whom he has known since 1959 and has been married to for 48 years; his children Lynn Cass and husband Jim of Plum, Thomas J. Dobrinick and wife Laura of Trafford, his precious grandchildren who were the light of his life and he adored Alexander and Maxwell Cass, Hannah and Emma Dobrinick and his brother George T. Dobrinick of CA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends all around the area and country.   Family and friends will be received from 6-8 PM Saturday and from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Sunday in the John M. Helen K. Holmquiest Olson

Helen K. Holmquist Olson age 91 of Penn Twp. died Thursday, October 4, 2012.  Helen was born on October 18, 1920 on her parent’s farm homestead near Cando, North Dakota.  She was raised on the farm thru high school.  After high school she married Clarence G. Olson on October 1, 1939.  They moved to Fulda, MN and several years later moved to International Falls, MN to be near her parents.  While living in International Falls she was a dedicated employee with Piggly Wiggly for many years.   She moved to PA in the early 2000’s to be near her son and grandchildren after the death of her husband in October 1999.  She is survived by her son Gregory Olson (Maria) of Irwin; grandchildren Bart R. Olson (Karen), Debra E. Pecora (Michael); great-grandchildren Michael (Brianna), David and Matthew Olson; James, Samuel, Nicholas and Emily Bryon and one great-great grandduaghter Lauren Olson.  Family & friends will be received from 11 AM until a memorial service at 11:45 AM on Saturday in the John M. Dolores Matzik

Dolores L. Matzik age 85 of Trafford died Friday, October 5, 2012 in her home.  Dolores was born on August 11, 1927 in Gallitzin the daughter of the late Francis and Frances Maloskey Grabosky.  Dolores was a member of the St. Regis Church, Trafford. She was preceded in death by her husband John Matzik Jr. and a sister Marjorie Nagle.  Dolores is survived by her children Elaine Estadt and husband Dr. Daniel of Concord OH, Deborah Kapuscinski and husband Frank of Penn Twp., Cheryl Carney and companion Timothy W. Jennette of N. Francis Ament

Francis Ament age 90 of Level Green died Saturday, October 6, 2012 in the Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot.  Francis was born on June 16, 1922 in Latrobe PA.  He was retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad as an engineer, a member of the Level Green Presbyterian Church, a 32nd Degree Mason with Shidle Lodge #601 FA & M in Irwin, the Syria Shriners in Cheswick, a veteran of WWII serving with the US Army, a member of the Trafford American Legion Post 331 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Irwin.  Francis was preceded in death by his wife Anna Sichak Ament in 2003, a brother and several sisters.  Francis is survived by his two sons Francis Ament Jr. and wife Lois of Slippery Rock, Richard Ament and wife Toni of Sarver; three grandsons Daniel E. Ament and fiancé Marcia and daughter Leah, Richard A. Mary A. Vaccaro

Mary A. Vaccaro age 85 of Trafford died peacefully at home Saturday, September 29, 2012 in her home.  Mary was born on June 21, 1927 in Trafford the daughter of the late John and Julia Mizak Kraynak.  Mary was a member of the St. Regis Church, Trafford and was retired from Kaufmann’s Department Store in Monroeville where she worked as a sales clerk for many years.  Mary was preceded in death by her husband James Vaccaro; two brothers John and Michael Kraynak, and infant sister Helen Kraynak, sister Ann Colinear and a nephew Michael Kraynak.  Mary is survived by nephews John Colinear of Allison Park, William Colinear of West Newton, niece Joann Marshall of N. Huntington, nephews Ronald Colinear of Manhattan, NY, and Mark Kraynak of New Cumberland PA, a sister-in-law Nancy Kraynak of Plum, great nephews and niece John Colinear , Susan Frost and Kevin Kraynak and and two great-great nieces.  Family and friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8PM on Tuesday in the John M. Delnora J. Valentine

Delnora J. Valentine age 78 of Harrison City died Saturday September 29, 2012 in the Gerri-Care Plus Assisted Living, Penn Twp.  Delnora was born on November 4, 1933 in Monroeville the daughter of the late John H. and Elizabeth Boyd McKinney.  Delnora was retired from Forbes Regional Hospital as a Registered Nurse.  She was preceded in death by her husband James H. Valentine and her daughter Debbie Getty.  Delnora is survived by her children Diane Owoc and husband Roy, Jim Valentine, Jack Valentine and wife Nancy; four grandchildren Tiffani Recker, Kara DelSignore, Cortney Owoc and Danny Owoc; four great-grandchildren and two brothers John and Oliver McKinney.  Family & friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the John M. Helen Brletic Narey

Helen Brletic Narey age 92 of Trafford died Tuesday, September 25, 2012 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 1, 1919 in Wilmerding the daughter of the late Michael and Antonica Bukovac Brletic.  Helen was retired from the former A&P Supermarket in Jeannette as a cashier.  She was a Woman Mill Worker during WWII making soldier’s helmets while temporarily employed with Westinghouse in E. Pittsburgh.  Helen was a member of the St. Regis Church, Trafford and was an avid Pittsburgh Sports fan.  Helen was preceded in death by her husband William Thomas Narey; three brothers Andrew, Matthew and John Brletic and a sister Mary Horvatic.  Helen is survived by her son William Thomas “Bud” Narey Jr. and wife Dana of Pitcairn, her grandchildren Shawn Narey, and  Stacey Voytish and husband Matthew and her great-grandson Colin Voytish.  The family wants to thank Nurse Nancy Fawcett from Heartland Hospice for her dedicated and wonderful care of Helen.  Family and friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Thursday in the John M. Paul J. Mendicino

Paul J. Mendicino age 83 of North Huntingdon died on Friday, September 21, 2012 in his home surrounded by his loving family.  Paul was born on July 11, 1929 in Trafford the son of the late Dominic and Angeline Mastroianni Mendicino.  Paul retired from Ryan Moving & Storage after 50 years of service.  He was a member of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, N. Huntingdon.  Paul was preceded in death by his twin brother Vincent T. Mendicino, Thomas, Robert and Donald Mendicino.  Paul is survived by his wife Dolores M. Emily “Molly” Zgonc

Emily “Molly” Perne Zgonc age 99 of Tampa FL, formerly of Irwin died Monday, September 17, 2012.  Emily was born on April 24, 1913 in Cleveland OH.  Emily was a lifelong member of the S.N.P.J. Lodge 41 of Pleasant Valley.  She was preceded in death by her mother Anna Kushar, her husband John M. Michael J. Casario

Michael J. Casario age 85 of Jeannette died Sunday, September 9, 2012 in his home with his family by his side.  Mike was born on December 3, 1926 in Jeannette the son of the late John M. and Marie Abel Casario. Mike retired as the Executive Director for the Westmoreland County Department of Public Welfare.  He was a veteran of the US Navy during WWII and was a member of the Jeannette Legion Post 344. He served on the USS Laub and USS JP Kennedy Jr. in the European Theater. Mike graduated from Jeanette High School Class of 1944 then after serving his country he attended St. Vincent College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business.  Mike was a member of the Ascension Church Jeannette, was a member of the Choir since 1946 and was a member of Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree. Mike was a musician and vocalist with several local bands, Men About Town, Tune Tailors and Modelaires.  Mike was preceded in death by his daughter Patricia A. Gibson in 2004 and a sister Carmella Cole.  Mike is survived by his wife of 65 years Betty Caesar Casario, his son John Casario and wife Sharon of Jeannette, his son-in-law Robert “Hoot” Gibson of Jeannette, his grandchildren Matthew R. and Travis M. Gibson and Paige Casario; two sisters Dolores Pacelli and husband Joe of Jeannette and Bonnie M. Dobrinick and husband John of Trafford. Mike is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.  The family wants to thank the nurses and aides from Heartland Hospice for their dedicated and wonderful care of Mike.  Family and friends will be received from 2-8 PM on Tuesday in the John M.
