Mary Mazur

Mary Mazur age 93 of Level Green passed away on February 2, 2015.  She was born in Trafford on March 31, 1921 the daughter of the late Joseph and Apalonia (Kordish) Zychowski. She was a member of St. Regis Church and she was the co-owner & operator of the Mazur Hotel in Wilmerding. Wife of the late Stanley M. Mazur; mother of William (Janet) Mazur of TX, Jane (Lloyd) Hunley of Grand Junction, CO, and Marian (Regis) Vollmer of Pittsburgh; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. THERE WILL BE NO VISITATION.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11AM on Thursday in the St. Regis Church, 517 Homewood Ave. Trafford.  Everyone please go directly to the church.  Entombment will follow in the New St. Joseph Mausoleum, N. Versailles.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Regis Church Development Fund.

Anna B. Thomas age 83 of Level Green passed away on Tuesday February 3, 2015 at her home.  Anna was born on December 27, 1931 in Lake Lynn WV the daughter of the late Glenden C. and Ella M. (Lewis) Casteel.  Anna was a member of the Level Green Presbyterian Church and the Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.  Anna was preceded in death by her husband Noah Junior Thomas, a sister Shirley Thompson and brother Junior Cole.  Anna is survived by her children Janis (Jim) Baker of Level Green, Wanda (Ronald) Hodoba of New Alexandria; her grandchildren Tonya Perfetta and Julie Hodoba and a great-grandson Trent Perfetta and her brother Robert (Colleen) Casteel, sister-in-law Maxine Cole, and many nieces and nephews.  Family and friends will be received on Friday at 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the John M. Charles J. Gozdanovich

Charles J. Gozdanovich age 63 of Level Green passed away on Saturday January 31, 2015 in his home.  Charles was born on February 10, 1951 the son of the late Charles Thomas and Olga Ostroski Gozdanovich who just passed away January 13, 2015.  Charles was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the US Air Force with the rank of SGT.  He was currently the Vice-President of Credit Audit at PNC Bank Financial Services Group in Pittsburgh.  Charles is survived by his sister Rosemary McMahon (Brian); nephews Eric (Jen) and Brennan; a great-niece and nephew Travis and Isabelle.  Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation on Thursday from 9AM until a blessing service at 9:30 AM with Fr. Jean Allison Otto

Jean Allison Otto, age 69, of Trafford, died after putting up the good fight against complications due to surgery. Jean will be remembered by many for her humor, charm, height, and beauty. She will be missed by family and friends, who will never forget Jean’s contagious laughter, quick wit, and caring nature. Jean was loved, is loved, and will forever be loved.   She is survived by her brother James Brandt Otto, his partner Mary Ireland, daughter, Kristan Jean Otto Abeshouse, son-in-law Daniel, grandsons Levi and Cary James, niece Kerri Lynn Otto-Llewellyn, husband Edward, grand-nieces Morgan Taylor and Katie Allison, her sister-in-law and dear friend Patricia Bayko and Christy Ireland Page, husband Ron, children Airiann, Makayla, and Logan. Elizabeth Louise “Betty” (Petrusky) Bruno age 87 of Harrison City, formerly of Trafford passed away on Tuesday January 27, 2015 in the Forbes Regional Hospital.  Betty was born on September 4, 1927 in Brisbin PA the daughter of the late Emery and Ellen (Bizub) Petrusky.    Betty was a member of the St. Regis Church Trafford and its former Altar Rosary Society.  She retired as a Registered Nurse from Braddock Hospital with over 30 years of service.  She trained as an Army Cadet Nurse at the end of WWII, was a member of the Homestead Hospital Nurses Alumni Association, the ISDA Forest Hills Lodge #224 and was an avid bowler.  Betty was preceded in death by her husband Stanley J. Bruno Sr. in 2005, a brother Roman Petrusky and a sister Catherine Humberston. Betty is survived by her children Carol Gevaudan (Edmond) of Harrison City, JoEllen Bruno (William Cline) of Latrobe and Stanley J. Bruno Jr. (Kelly) of Claridge; her five grandchildren Cristie Gevaudan (Mike Vargulish), Renee Kozielec (Sean), Robert Bruno, Elizabeth Bruno South and Luke Cline; her three great-grandchildren Frankie South, Dean Kozielec and Rylee Vargulish; and her two sisters June Prizmonte of N. Blanche N. Lewandoski

Blanche N. Lewandoski age 77 of Avonmore, formerly of Level Green, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015 in her home.  Blanche was born on July 28, 1937 in Pitcairn the daughter of the late Martin and Mary (Bowen) Mullen.  Blanche enjoyed reading and was a proud homemaker.  She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence J. Lewandoski and a sister Louise Lezzak.  Blanche is survived by her daughter Carolyn Phillips (Robert) of Avonmore, her grandchildren Shane J. and Amber K. Cathy M. (Beech) O’Reilly age 67 of Trafford passed away on Monday January 19, 2015 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Cathy was born on December 5, 1947 in Pittsburgh the daughter of the late James and Margaret “Peg” (Weidow) Beech.  Cathy was retired from WABCO in Wilmerding and ServiceMaster in Pitcairn.  She was a member of the St. Regis Church Trafford. Cathy is survived by her loving husband of 43 years Patrick J. “Pat” O’Reilly; her loving children Colleen McNay (Scott) of Belleair FL and Patrick L. Marie Joan Berklich age 95 of Trafford passed away on Sunday January 18, 2015.  Marie was born on May 29 1919 in Export the daughter of the late Matt and Catherine (Benich) Dubrave.  Marie was a member of the St. Regis Church Trafford, a graduate of Trafford High School Class of 1937, a 50 Year Member of the CFU Lodge #541 Trafford.  Marie was a wonderful cook who enjoyed making meals for everyone who came to her home.  She was a wonderful mom to her children and everyone she ever knew.  Marie was preceded in death by her husband John Berklich and her sister Margaret Skelley.  Marie is survived by her children Bernard M. Berklich (Carol), Robert J. Berklich (Marie) all of Mt. Lebanon, and Nancy Marie Berklich of Morrison CO; her grandchildren Kara Weber, Brian Berklich, Tracy Legrand, Timothy Berklich and Michael Kearns; her great-grandchildren Spencer & Abigail Legrand, William & Guston Weber, Addisyn Berklich, Graham & Nora Berklich, Calvin & Harrison Kearns and her sister Dorothy Gioia of Charlottesville VA.  Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 3-9 PM only in the John M. Ronald “Ron” W. Jenkins, age 71 of Trafford passed away on Friday January 9, 2015.  Ronald was born on March 15, 1943 in Wilkinsburg the son of the late William Jenkins and Caroline (Chiappetta) Spiegel. Ronald was a veteran of the United States military serving with the Army. In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his stepfather Ed Spiegal, and sister Jean Dinger. Ronald is survived by his wife Mary Ann (Tomkovicz) Jenkins; his daughter Ronda Reid (Scott) of State College; grandchildren Alex and Connor Reid; as well as his brothers Ed “Sonny” Jenkins of Calabash, NC and Don Spiegel of Warren, OH. Lantz L. Buccella age 84 of Level Green passed away on Thursday January 8, 2015 in Manor Care of Monroeville.  Lantz was born on January 22 1930 in Pitcairn the son of the late Rocco and Joesphine (Minicucci)Buccella.  Lantz was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the Navy.  Lantz retired from US Steel with over 30 years of service and then worked for several years at the Volkswagen Plant in New Stanton.  He was a member of the St. Regis Church, Trafford American Legion Post 331, St. John Kanty Lodge (Polish Club) Trafford; he enjoyed playing pool and golf.  Lantz was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Lantz was preceded in death by his wife Janet DiTomasso Buccella and a brother Tristone “Patsy” Buccella.  Lantz is survived by his children John Buccella (Sue) of Jeannette, Paul Buccella (Janey) of Westmoreland City and Sharon Buccella of Level Green; his grandchildren Jonathan, Sara and Julie Buccella and Joshua and Taylor Resnick; and his siblings Paul Buccella of IL, Ethel Buccella of McKeesport and Antionette “Dolly” Mashione of MI and numerous nieces and nephews.   Family and friends will be received from 6-9 PM on Saturday and from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Sunday in the John M.
