Blanche Lawrence

Blanche Lawrence age 92 of Trafford passed away on Monday February 11, 2013 in the UPMC East, Monroeville.  Blanche was born on June 26, 1920 in Trafford the daughter of the late Paul and Antonina Kraus Magusiak.  Blanche retired from K-Mart as an Advertising Manager and she was a member of the St. Regis Church, St. John Kanty Lodge #855 both in Trafford (Polish Club) and the White Eagles Lodge #3023.  Blanche was preceded in death by her husband John C. Lawrence in 1972 and her brother Edward Magusiak.  Blanche is survived by her children David Lawrence and wife Joan of Murrysville, and Jane Penkert and husband Ron of Trafford; 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren;  a sister Josephine Guina of Trafford and numerous nieces and nephews.   Family & friends will be received on Wednesday from  7-9 PM  and Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the John M. Robert T. Merkovsky

Robert T. Merkovsky age 87 formerly of Level Green passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013 in the Weatherwood Manor Assisted Living, Hempfield Twp.  Robert was born on December 20, 1925 in Braddock the son of the late John and Mary Cvejkus Merkovsky.  Robert was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Navy as a Seabee.  He retired from the Westinghouse R & D Center, Churchill as a machinist and was a member of the Our Lady of Grace Church Greensburg and formerly of the St. Regis Church, Trafford.  Robert was preceded in death by his wife Delores P. Sokolowski Merkovsky in 2008, and two sisters Valeri Neff and Martha Churchfield.  Robert is survived by his two sons Robert R. Merkovsky of Schererville, IN, and Daniel Merkovsky and wife Cindy of Hempfield Twp.; three grandchildren Shaun Brown of Bristol, TN, Nicole and Kaylee Merkovsky of Hempfield Twp.; a brother John Merkovsky of N. Sophia Zigarovicz

Sophia Wrobel Zigarovicz age 93 of Trafford passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 in the Golden Heights Personal Care Home, Penn Twp.  Sophia was born on January 27, 1920 in Trafford the daughter of the late Frank and Victoria Naperatz Wrobel.  Sophia was a member of the St. Regis Church, Trafford and its former Altar Rosary Society.  She also was a member of the St. John Kanty Lodge #881 (Polish Club) in Trafford and the White Eagle Lodge.  Sophia was preceded in death by her husband Frank Zigarovicz in 2005, her son David F. Zigarovicz in 1990, and three sisters Stella Novosel, Helen Smith and Mary Brian.  Sophia is survived by her brother Ted Wrobel and wife Pat of Trafford and Josephine Mogus and husband John of Murrysville and many nieces and nephews.  Family and friends will be received from 6-8 PM on Thursday and 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Friday in the John M. Stephen H. Cavalancia

Stephen H. Cavalancia age 84 formerly of Turtle Creek and Trafford passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013 in the Southwestern Veterans Center, Pittsburgh.  Stephen was born on February 6, 1928 in Pittsburgh the son of the late Antonio and Mary DeFrank Cavalancia.  Stephen was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Army.  He retired from the Westinghouse Airbrake Co. (WABCO) as a machinist.  He was member of the American Legion Post 980 in Plum and the Sons of Christopher Columbus Club Trafford and served as their Financial Secretary for many years.  Stephen was preceded in death by his first wife Lorraine Schake Cavalancia, his 2nd wife Mary Jane Cook Cavalancia; a son Richard A. Cavalancia; two brothers Alfred and Dominic and a sister Betty Marsh.  He is survived by his children Stephen R. and wife Marlene of Penn Hills, James Michael Cavalancia of Versailles; two step-children Sandy Rudert and husband Bill and Roy Cook all of Sarver; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; brothers Wilbert of Plum, Jim of Blairsville and Nicholas of FL;  sisters Rose Cavalancia of Trafford and Mary Ann Green of TX.  Family & friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the John M. John Donald Mousseau

John Donald “Moose” Mousseau age 84 of Trafford formerly of Plum passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2013.  John was born on June 30, 1928 in Pittsburgh the son of the late Charles A. and Myrtle Josberger Mousseau.  John was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Navy and he was an electrician for over 40 years working with various companies.  He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Murrysville, a member of the Trafford American Legion Post #331 and a life member of the American Legion and he enjoyed watching sports.  John was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years Regina Maxwell Mousseau who he married on October 5, 1949; his son Donald Glenn Mousseau and a twin brother Earl Thomas Mousseau.  John is survived by his seven children Linda Stapinski (Stanley), Carol Biddington (Bill), Ken (Dana), Gary and John E. Mousseau (Patricia), Janice Molchan (Norman) and Robert Mousseau (Adella); nine grandchildren W. Marshall and Matthew Biddington, Emily and Michael Molchan, Nicole, Anthony, Allie, Anastasia and Jacob Mousseau; one great-grandchild William Biddington; two step-great-grandchildren Chloe and Callie Prince; his brother Robert Mousseau (Betty) of St. Joseph MI, a brother-in-law Russell Maxwell (Patricia) and a sister-in-law Mary Jane Mousseau.   Family and friends will be received from 1-3 & 5-8 PM on Tuesday in John M. Leona E. Freda

Leona E. Freda age 90 of Level Green passed away peacefully Monday, January 7, 2013with her family by her side in the Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville.  Leona was born on January 13, 1922 in Pittsburgh the daughter of the late Russell and Ida Hoover Maurer.  Leona was a member of the Level Green Presbyterian Church.  She was preceded in death by her son David Freda and a sister-in-law Viola Freda.  Leona is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Rudolph G. Robert W. Coughlin

Robert W. Coughlin age 79 of Harrison City passed away Friday, December 28, 2012 in his home.  Bob was born on April 3, 1933 in Pittsburgh, the son of the late John and Frances Lynch Coughlin. Bob Graduated from St. Vincent College in 1955 and then served his country during the Korean War serving with the US Army in Germany.  He then attended the University of Pittsburgh and achieved two Masters Degrees.  Bob retired from the Rehabilitation Institute of Pittsburgh as the Director of Social Services.  He was a member of the St. Barbara Church in Harrison City.  Bob is survived by  loving wife of 30 years Rita J. Tucci Martin, his children Michael Kaye of Penn Twp., Patrick Coughlin and wife Christine of Westerville OH, Vincent Coughlin and wife Tracy of Greensburg, Judiann Johns and husband Stephen of Greensburg; his grandchildren Taylor, Paige and Logan Kaye, Adam and Ashley Nuckles, Haley and Cameron Coughlin, Brandon and Aidan Coughlin, Stephen, Justin, Colton and Nathan Johns; a sister Mary Lou Leary and husband John of Export, a brother Vincent Coughlin and wife Barbara of Connecticut; his step-children James Martin and wife Marcy, Jerry Martin and Donna Sinclair and 11 Step-grandchildren.  Family and friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Sunday in the James E. Lillian Panaro

Lillian Panaro age 81 formerly of Plum died Sunday, December 30, 2012 in Manor Care, Monroeville.  Lillian was born on November 27, 1931 in Spangler the daughter of the late Stephen and Anna Malisa Smarsh.  As a woman of strong Christian Faith, she lived her life serving our Lord as a loving wife and mother of 11 children.  Her family was always her first priority, and her greatest accomplishment was raising her children to know the importance of God, family values and country.  Her gentle, loving kindness was felt by all in need.  Lillian was preceded in death by her husband Anthony Panaro in 1991 and a brother Stephen Smarsh.  Lillian is survived by her sons Terry (Kathy) of Saxonburg, Mark (Nelia) of Murrysville, Shawn of Mars, Gene (Lisa) of Verona, Joel (Reagan) of Plum, Jason (Jackie) of Ohio and daughters Toni Evans Presley (Marty) of Delaware, Diana Bartakovich (Ed) of Trafford, Carol Gresock (John) of Punxsutawney, Cheryl Kozar (John) of Level Green and Loraine Garofolo (Rob) of Monroeville; 30 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; a brother Joseph Smarsh of New Castle and two sisters Margaret Morris of Plum and Janet Krug (Dalvin) of Columbia.  Family & friends will be received on Thursday from 2-8 PM in the John M.
