Mildred R. Paich Zyhowski

Mildred R. Zhyowski age 91 formerly of Trafford died Saturday, October 27, 2012 in Arden Court, Ross Twp.  Mildred was born on February 15, 1921 in Trafford the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Krutysza Piach.  Mildred was a member of the St. Regis Church, Trafford and was a graduate of Trafford High School class of 1938.   Mildred worked as a cashier in the Trafford Middle School Cafeteria for several years and was a former volunteer at the Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville.  Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Chester A. Zyhowski in 2006, a daughter Janet Zyhowski and a brother Don Paich.  Mildred is survived by her son Greg Zyhowski and wife Terry and her grandson Gregory M. Zyhowski all of Shaler Twp.; two sisters Martha Krotz of Columbus, OH and Virginia Wagner of Easley, SC.  Family and friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Tuesday in the John M. Vincent Alban Holden

Vincent Alban Holden of Monroeville, formerly of Level Green died Sunday, October 28, 2012 in the Independence Court, Monroeville.  Vincent was born on September 29, 1916 in West Newton the son of the late Vincent J. and Elsie Taylor Holden.  Vincent was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Army Air Corps.  He was a weatherman as an enlisted soldier and then became a 1st Lt. and Navigated a B-17 Bomber Airplane with the 8th Air Force.  He flew and completed 34 Missions over Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe.  He received the Air Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters and the European African Middle Eastern Medal with Three Battle Stars for his valor and service.  When Vincent entered an airplane, he said to his crew of nine, “Never Fear…Holden’s Here!!  He Said “This always made the crew feel better.”  After the military he worked for and retired from Westinghouse in the East Pittsburgh and Churchill Offices with the Patent Department.  He was an active member of the Manor American Legion Carl Leroy McKelvey Post 472. Vincent was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Elizabeth Ayres Holden in 2011 and four brothers James, Novello, Dallas and Regis Holden.  Vincent is survived by nieces and nephews and a special friend Ron Scarano.  Family & friends will be received on Thursday from 10:30 AM until the time of a blessing service at 12 Noon in the John M. Evelyn Jean Ferline

Evelyn Jean Ferline age 80 of Trafford died Wednesday, October 17, 2012 in UPMC East, Monroeville.  Evelyn was born on November 21, 1931 in Pitcairn the daughter of the late Fred and Lillian Cashdollar Fritz.  Evelyn was a member of the St. Regis Church, Trafford and was a devoted mother and always was caring for her family.  Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Louis Ferline in 1995, a son Nicholas L. Miele, a brother William Fritz and a sister Mildred Fritz.  Evelyn is survived by her children Louis F. Ferline of Trafford, Bonnie Bechtold and husband Terry of N. Huntingdon, and Sandra Thompson of Trafford; her grandchildren Nick Patsche, Chisty Tokay, TJ Beehtold, Lindsay Patsche; seven great-grandchildren and three sisters Shirley Capo of Monroeville, Betty Stephenson of Tennessee, and Helen Hall of Florida. James W. Porter

James W. Porter age 71 of Murrysville died Sunday, October 14, 2012 in the West Penn Hospice, Pittsburgh.  Jim was born on December 6, 1940 in Harrison City the son of the late Thomas and Pearl E. Starry Porter.  Jim was a security guard for Cauley Detective Agency, a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the US Air Force and an avid fisherman and hunter.  Jim was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy Porter.  He is survived by his wife Sharon Osborne Porter, his step-sons David Koricich of Saltsburg and Nick Koricich of Jeannette, a brother David P. Porter and wife Chris of N. Henry “Herky”Schweikarth

Henry “Herky” Schweikarth, age 83 of Trafford passed away on Sat., Oct. 13, 2012.  Herky retired from Westinghouse Airbrake of Wilmerding. He was a combat wounded veteran of the Korean War, with the U.S. Army, a part-time policeman on the Trafford Police Force and was currently employed as a driver for the Laidlaw/ First Student bus service. He is survived by his loving wife Eva (Todaro) Schweikarth, devoted daughter and son-in-law Kim and Ralph E. Boura, and cherished granddaughter Sabrina Lynn Boura, all of Level Green. He is also survived by his sister Dorothy Liscinsky, sisters-in-law Rose Todaro and Helen Schweikarth, niece and husband Bonnie Lou and Mark Ricard, and their son and Mark Louis, as well as a host of other nieces and nephews; and preceded in death by brothers, William Jr. (Butz) and Phillip (Lefty) Schweikarth. Dorothy H. Bryan

Bryan, Dorothy H., 89, of Plantation FL, passed away October 9, 2012.  She was born in Trafford, PA, and a longtime resident of South Florida, residing at Covenant Village in Plantation, FL.  Dorothy worked in the nursing profession for many years, and was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church.  She is predeceased by her sisters, Anna Bryan, Lillian Bryan and Rose Smith and two brothers Frank and Rudy Bryan.  Dorothy is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Bill Bryan, William Smith, Brian Smith, Joseph Smith and Dolores Woodruff. Joan R. Klovanick

Joan R. Klovanick age 80 of Trafford died Wednesday, October 10, 2012 in the Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville.  Joan was born on April 28, 1932 in Wall the daughter of the late Paul and Anna Petruska Pavlo.  Joan was a member of the Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church in Wall.  She was preceded in death by her husband John E. Klovanick in 2008 and six sisters.  Joan is survived by her son David Klovanick of Trafford; a brother Paul Pavlo of E. John M. Dobrinick

John M. “Dobie” Dobrinick age 73 of Trafford died at his home on Wednesday morning, October 10, 2012.  Dobie was born on October 9, 1939 in Wilkinsburg the son of the late John M. and Dorothy Ciganovic Dobrinick.  Dobie was a graduate of Jeannette High School Class of 1957 and was the starting halfback with their 1956 WPIAL Class AA Football Championship Team and a lifelong supporter of Jeannette Athletics.  Dobie’s passion was high school football. He always said high school athletics was the best to watch because the kids played because they love the game. Dobie was a graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1961. He worked in the Greensburg/Jeannette area as a licensed funeral director before purchasing the William Daugherty Funeral Home in Trafford in 1974 and changing the name to the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home. Dobie has served the families of Trafford and Level Green area for over 38 years and one of his proudest moments was moving to their new location on 7th Street in 2003. Dobie was a former member of the Jeannette School Board.  He was a current and very active member of the Trafford Lions Club, serving various offices within the organization.  He was the Emergency Management Director for Trafford for over 20 years and was always a very active member of the Trafford Community.  Dobie was preceded in death by his grandson James Mark Cass Jr. in 1996.  He is survived by his loving wife Bonnie M. Casario Dobrinick whom he has known since 1959 and has been married to for 48 years; his children Lynn Cass and husband Jim of Plum, Thomas J. Dobrinick and wife Laura of Trafford, his precious grandchildren who were the light of his life and he adored Alexander and Maxwell Cass, Hannah and Emma Dobrinick and his brother George T. Dobrinick of CA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends all around the area and country.   Family and friends will be received from 6-8 PM Saturday and from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Sunday in the John M. Helen K. Holmquiest Olson

Helen K. Holmquist Olson age 91 of Penn Twp. died Thursday, October 4, 2012.  Helen was born on October 18, 1920 on her parent’s farm homestead near Cando, North Dakota.  She was raised on the farm thru high school.  After high school she married Clarence G. Olson on October 1, 1939.  They moved to Fulda, MN and several years later moved to International Falls, MN to be near her parents.  While living in International Falls she was a dedicated employee with Piggly Wiggly for many years.   She moved to PA in the early 2000’s to be near her son and grandchildren after the death of her husband in October 1999.  She is survived by her son Gregory Olson (Maria) of Irwin; grandchildren Bart R. Olson (Karen), Debra E. Pecora (Michael); great-grandchildren Michael (Brianna), David and Matthew Olson; James, Samuel, Nicholas and Emily Bryon and one great-great grandduaghter Lauren Olson.  Family & friends will be received from 11 AM until a memorial service at 11:45 AM on Saturday in the John M. Dolores L. Matzik age 85 of Trafford died Friday, October 5, 2012 in her home.  Dolores was born on August 11, 1927 in Gallitzin the daughter of the late Francis and Frances Maloskey Grabosky.  Dolores was a member of the St. Regis Church, Trafford.
