Paul J. Mendicino

Paul J. Mendicino age 83 of North Huntingdon died on Friday, September 21, 2012 in his home surrounded by his loving family.  Paul was born on July 11, 1929 in Trafford the son of the late Dominic and Angeline Mastroianni Mendicino.  Paul retired from Ryan Moving & Storage after 50 years of service.  He was a member of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, N. Huntingdon.  Paul was preceded in death by his twin brother Vincent T. Mendicino, Thomas, Robert and Donald Mendicino.  Paul is survived by his wife Dolores M. Krcelic Mendicino of 55 years, his three daughters Anette Macioce and husband Thomas of Lower Burrel, Paulette Clementoni and husband Russell of Williamsport and Lynette Niro and husband Thomas of Monroeville, five grandchildren Kristen Macioce, Kelsey and Alex Clementoni, Brandon and Sydney Niro.  Paul’s family would like to thank Asera Care Hospice and his special care giver Lauren Lochner for their wonderful care of Paul.  Family & friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Sunday in the John M. Emily “Molly” Zgonc

Emily “Molly” Perne Zgonc age 99 of Tampa FL, formerly of Irwin died Monday, September 17, 2012.  Emily was born on April 24, 1913 in Cleveland OH.  Emily was a lifelong member of the S.N.P.J. Lodge 41 of Pleasant Valley.  She was preceded in death by her mother Anna Kushar, her husband John M. Michael J. Casario

Michael J. Casario age 85 of Jeannette died Sunday, September 9, 2012 in his home with his family by his side.  Mike was born on December 3, 1926 in Jeannette the son of the late John M. and Marie Abel Casario. Mike retired as the Executive Director for the Westmoreland County Department of Public Welfare.  He was a veteran of the US Navy during WWII and was a member of the Jeannette Legion Post 344. He served on the USS Laub and USS JP Kennedy Jr. in the European Theater. Mike graduated from Jeanette High School Class of 1944 then after serving his country he attended St. Vincent College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business.  Mike was a member of the Ascension Church Jeannette, was a member of the Choir since 1946 and was a member of Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree. Mike was a musician and vocalist with several local bands, Men About Town, Tune Tailors and Modelaires.  Mike was preceded in death by his daughter Patricia A. Gibson in 2004 and a sister Carmella Cole.  Mike is survived by his wife of 65 years Betty Caesar Casario, his son John Casario and wife Sharon of Jeannette, his son-in-law Robert “Hoot” Gibson of Jeannette, his grandchildren Matthew R. and Travis M. Gibson and Paige Casario; two sisters Dolores Pacelli and husband Joe of Jeannette and Bonnie M. Dobrinick and husband John of Trafford. Mike is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.  The family wants to thank the nurses and aides from Heartland Hospice for their dedicated and wonderful care of Mike.  Family and friends will be received from 2-8 PM on Tuesday in the John M. Cameron J. Comito

Cameron J. Comito age 31 of Trafford went to be with the Lord early Friday morning, September 7, 2012 at Forbes Regional Hospital Monroeville after a difficult battle with cancer.  Cameron was born on November 25, 1980 in Monroeville.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and friend.  Cameron’s devotion in every part of his life was evident to all. He loved to make every day special regardless of what he did and shared those days with his family.  He made the most out of each day and taught others how to live life to its fullest, even during his illness. He loved camping and enjoyed coaching his daughter’s team in the Trafford Softball Assoc.  Cameron was employed with Equitable Gas Co. as an Operations Supervisor.  Cameron is survived by his loving wife Kellie D. Vautard Comito, his precious daughters Madison, Leah, Megan and Lindsay, his adoring parents Ralph and Lorraine Balanti Comito, his brother Christopher Comito, his maternal grandparents Sylvester “Babe” and Marion Balanti, his father and mother-in-law Gary and Linda Vautard and he is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Cameron was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents John J. and Margaret M. Bernadette Sullivan Palchak

Bernadette Sullivan Palchak age 88 of Grove City, formerly of Trafford, died Saturday, August 25, 2012 in the Avalon Springs Nursing Center, Mercer.  Bernadette was born on February 20, 1924 in Turtle Creek the daughter of the late John A. and Clara Schmidt Sullivan.  Bernadette attended the University of Pittsburgh and graduated from John Hopkins University School of Nursing.  She also graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania School of Education.  Prior to retirement Bernadette was a Registered Nurse and worked for the Burrell School District, the City of Pittsburgh Schools, the former Columbia Hospital and the Red Cross.  She was a member of the St. Regis Church Trafford and its former Altar Rosary Society.  She was a member and served as President of the Level Green Sr. Citizens and a member of the Young At Heart.  She was a member of the John Hopkins Alumni Association, the Theta Phi Alpha Sorority at the Univ. of Pittsburgh and served as President and a member of the School Nurses Association of Westmoreland County. Bernadette is survived by her children Joseph P. Jr. and wife Carolyn of Marshall, MI, Greg E. and wife Elaine of McCandless Twp., John K. and wife Luina of Menlo Park CA, Russell B. and wife Jennifer of Granite Bay, CA, Marianne Kostiha and husband Dave of Chardon, OH, and Kathleen Claire Orr and husband Jeff of Grove City PA; 13 grandchildren Mark, Daniel, Melissa, Elizabeth  (Doug Connelly), Maureen  (Doug Meffley), David, Kristen and Andrew Palchak, Sarah Kostiha, Tony (Angie) Campagna and Angela Campagna, Brandon Alpert, and John Patrick Palchak and her great-grandchild Giovanni Campagna.  Bernadette was preceded in death by her husband Joseph P. Raymond Howard Edelman Jr.

Raymond Howard Edelman Jr., age 43 of Trafford, died after a brief illness on Monday, August 13, 2012 in the Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.  Ray was born in Wilkinsburg the son of Raymond Howard Edelman Sr. and Rosemary Patricia Lynch Edelman.  Ray grew up in Trafford and graduated from Penn-Trafford High School in 1986.  He attended Westmoreland County Community College in Youngwood, PA and the California University of Pennsylvania in California, PA.  He received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Applied Computer Science, with a Minor in Urban Studies.  He was currently working as a Computer Systems Engineer with Management Science Associates in Point Breeze (Pittsburgh), where he’d worked for 17 years.  Ray was a member of St. Regis Catholic Church and a former member of the Trafford Fire Co. No 1, where he served from 1986-1996, holding positions as Captain, Lieutenant, Hose Foreman, President, Vice-President, and Trustee.  Ray enjoyed talking with friends, gaming, reading, and a fine IPA.  He played DEK Hockey at Hot Shots Indoor Sports Arena in Mt. Pleasant and with many Pittsburgh area leagues.  Ray is survived by his mother Rosemary Edelman of Trafford; his father Raymond H. Edelman Sr. and wife Georganne of Penn Twp.; his sister Rue Edelman of Trafford; a brother Randy Edelman, wife Traci, and niece Abigail of Port Matilda, PA; and a brother Christian Edelman of Penn Twp.; as well as many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.  Ray was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Art and Mary Lynch of Perrysville, PA, paternal grandparents Paul and Frieda Edelman of Level Green, PA and his step grandmother Dorothy Bish Edelman of Penn Hills, PA. Helen V. Kaczynski

Helen V. Gosik Kaczynski age 94 of Trafford, formerly of N. Huntingdon died Sunday, June 24, 2012 in her home.  Helen was born on February 14, 1918 in Braddock the daughter of the late Stanley and Phyllis Pokorsky Gosik.  Helen was a member of the St. Regis Catholic Church, Trafford, the Emerald Club, Christian Mothers and Penn’s Wood Senior Citizens of North Huntingdon.  In addition to her parents Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Albert J. Kaczynski, two brothers Anthony and Joseph Gosik, two sisters Marion Hardison and Wanda Zavada.  Helen is survived by her two daughters Phyllis (Joseph Rege) Wilk of Level Green, Carolyn Price of Trafford, and a son Robert “Kaz” Kaczynski (Judy) of Level Green, 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two sisters Caroline Peklansky of E. Regina Mae Williams

Regina Mae Williams age 82 of Level Green died Saturday, June 16, 2012 in her home.  She was born on July 4, 1929 in Pitcairn the daughter of the late Richard and Pauline Segrand George.  Regina was a member of the St. Regis Church, Trafford and delivered food for Meals-On-Wheels.  Regina was preceded in death by her husband Russell W. Williams in 2001, and several brothers and sisters.  Regina is survived by her son David R. Pauline V. Kashawlic

Pauline V. Kashawlic age 98 of Trafford died Thursday, May 31, 2012 in the Evening Star Personal Care Home, Wilmerding.  Pauline was born on June 28, 1913 in Manifold PA the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Janik Ozarowsky.  Pauline was a very active member of the St. Regis Church in Trafford.  She was involved with the former Altar Rosary Society, Legion of Mary and many other activities and groups within the church.  She was a resident of Trafford for over 70 years of her life.  She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew H. Kashawlic in 1988, a grandson, five brothers and one sister.  Pauline is survived by her children John Kashawlic and wife Kathy of Penn Hills, Maryann DeCaro and husband George of Greensburg; 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and a brother Chester Ozarowsky of Washington PA.  Family & friends will be received from 2-8 PM on Wednesday in the John M.
